The Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation held its first annual Raining Cats and Dogs benefit auction on October 22, 2011 celebrating pet friendly Seattle and its neighborhoods.

The auction, held at the Swedish Cultural Center in Seattle, drew approximately 200 attendees. The evening was a huge success! The silent and live auctions raised $53,000, and the request for donations to fund Spay and Neuter needs in the community raised approximately $18,000, bringing the total to $71,000.

Our special guest, Lucky, delighted the crowd with his sweet disposition and life story. Lucky was dumped in a donation bin at the shelter as a puppy, and it was soon discovered that he was deaf and blind. Lucky went to an eye specialist for treatment and then recovered in foster care until he found his forever home. This little guy is just one of many animals that the Seattle Animal Shelter has cared for with the support of your donations.

SASF raises funds to help support the programs and initiatives of the Seattle Animal Shelter. With your generous donations and contributions, we can help many injured and unwanted animals in need.

This event would not have been successful if it wasn’t for your generosity. SASF would like to thank all of those who attended and made this event a great success.

We would also like to thank all of our sponsors, donors and volunteers. Without your contributions and valuable time, we could not have achieved such success!

We look forward to seeing you next year!

Keep watch for our 2012 events calendar.
