All of us at the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF) are truly grateful to everyone who attended and supported our third annual “Raising Cats & Dogs” benefit auction. Thanks to you, we raised a record-setting total of more than $130,000 to help the animals and programs of the Seattle Animal Shelter!

Proceeds will go towards an end-of-year grant, which will fund key initiatives to improve the quality of Shelter care and to enhance the lives of animals throughout Seattle.

“Raining Cats & Dogs,” held October 19th at the Swedish Cultural Center, saw more than 200 guests share an evening of fantastic food, sparkling conversation, and awe-inspiring generosity.

Emcee Lee Callahan and auctioneer Eric Mamroth kept the crowd excited as a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences sold during the live auction, including a week at a private villa in Portugal, a private tour of Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest, a Pearl Jam VIP package, and a ride-along opportunity with police dog Ziva (pictured above left) of the Seattle Police Dept. And one lucky guest walked away as the winner of a cruise for two to Mexico’s Sea of Cortés, courtesy of Un-Cruise Adventures.

To the individuals and companies that donated auction items, to the guests who gave so freely, to the local sponsors, to the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to our fantastic organizing committee, thank you from SASF, on behalf of Seattle’s animals.

Here are some photos from a memorable evening.
