Santa hit Seattle a little early to support SASF’s annual Santa Paws fundraiser on December 3rd and 10th.  In partnership with Petco Interbay, SASF hosted the fun photo event and had 120+ sittings with dogs, cats and even a guinea pig, raising more than $2,200 which will support grants for the Seattle Animal Shelter.  Tartar the 10-year-old poodle was the teeniest animal to be photographed and vying for the large-and-in-charge honors were a Mastiff, a Malamute and sibling Akitas.  Under the direction of photographer Winnie Westergard, festive photos were captured with smiling Santa, pets and owners.  But just like the holiday memes featuring kids screaming with Santa, there were a few animals who weren’t necessarily thrilled to be posing with Jolly Old St. Nick — even if they got to wear antlers or a Santa hat.  In addition to the pets being photographed, some dogs awaiting their forever homes from the Seattle Animal Shelter and the Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League also got to take part in the fun and got photos to promote adoption efforts.  Thanks to everyone who supported Santa Paws and happy wishes for the new year ahead.
