Strike a Pose, it’s Santa Paws
Santa Paws is back for 2017 and we had a festive kick-off on December 2nd with many pets and people posing! A personal favorite was a family of 4 Doodles who posed perfectly with holiday headbands on. Some chaos ensured when their Golden Retriever cousin joined the picture. We have two more dates for you to check out the fun and get some holiday snaps of your pets with Santa (and you too if you like!). Saturday, December 9th and 16th, come join SASF at the Interbay Petco from 1-4 pm. No appointment needed. Cost is $20 and proceeds benefit the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation. Petco address is 2001 15th Ave W Suite B, Seattle, WA 98119. You’ll get fun photo strips to take home and access to an online gallery to download your pics for cards, prints, social posts and more.

Raining Cats & Dogs 2017
October 14th marked the 7th Raining Cats and Dogs Auction to raise critical funds for the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation. More than 200 of Seattle’s biggest animal advocates came out to socialize, bid and support homeless animals in Seattle. A total of $190,000 was raised over the evening from the games, silent auction, live auction and Fund-A-Need. This year’s Fund-A-Need for an X-ray Suite at SAS was kicked off by Seattle Police Officer Mark Wong and retiring K9 patrol dog Ziva who received special recognition for her dedication and commitment to the Seattle community and animal welfare. $52,000 was raised for the Fund-A-Need X-ray Suite which will be named in Ziva’s honor. Stay tuned for a grand opening celebration in early 2018.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make the evening such a great success and celebrate our K9 friend, Ziva and her well-earned retirement. In terms of keeping the auction spirit alive, there were a number of one-of-a-kind experiences available for bidding at the auction. We thought it would be fun to share photo from SASF donors Peter Wakim and Nicole Aguirre’s recent behind the scenes trip to KOMO-TV with meteorologist Shannon O’Donnell. If you were one of the generous bidders who took home an “experience” from the auction, we’d love to share photos and/or an article about it. Email
